Tim Hill

Tim grew up in on the Oregon coast. He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and works as a hospitalist physician.


Heidi Hill & Ranger

Heidi was born in central California. She graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and used to work as a children’s dentist.

Ranger is a Cavapoo who was born in 2018. He loves peanut butter and his favorite human is Heidi.


Tim & Heidi

Tim and Heidi met at Pacific Union College and were married in 2001. They are lifelong traveling companions and parents of Annalise and Dexter.


Annalise Hill

Annalise studies cello and oboe. She aspires to become a professional musician someday.


Dexter Hill

Dexter studies organ and piano. He enjoys skiing and riding his bike.

What type of travel?

We are traveling throughout the USA while living in our travel trailer.

Why are you doing this?

Life is short. There is a very narrow window of time where we have sufficient health, time, and money to go on a grand adventure as a family.

What is your tow vehicle?

2024 Ford Super Duty F-450 Lariat

What about school for the kids?

Heidi is serving as the teacher for “Hillside Academy”, our homeschool.

How can Tim keep working in the hospital?

Approximately once a month, Tim travels back to Oregon to work seven 12-hour clinical shifts in a row (84 hours of work). This provides sufficient patient care to maintain his medical license and also covers health insurance.

How long will you be on the road?

Approximately 400 days.

What is your goal?

We intend to visit all 48 contiguous states.

What about music lessons?

We use Starlink or FirstNet hotspot or T-Mobile hotspot to provide internet access for online lessons.
